Caribe Resort – The Game

Close your eyes for a second and imagine that you are comfortably lying on a beach in the Caribbean. Your naked feet are buried in the hot sand and you can feel the salty breeze gently blowing in your hair. But what is that sound you’re hearing? The quiet crashing of the waves? The gentle swaying of palm trees? Perhaps what you’re hearing is a volley ball game in full swing taking place a few yards away… Or maybe none of the above, maybe what you’re hearing is loud salsa music and drunken revelry in full swing. Maybe that smell reaching your expectant nostrils is not brime from a fresh Caribbean breeze, but an open sky roast and the unmistakable scent of spilled rum and fancy cocktails…

What your future Caribbean All-Inclusive Resort could look like...

What your future Caribbean All-Inclusive Resort could look like…

All of this depends on the kind of all inclusive resort you’ve decided to build and run. Running a successful all inclusive resort in the Caribbean is, after all, one challenging endeavor rife with choices galore… So many aspects to juggle while catering to an eclectic crowd of patrons, to say the least. Are you going to aim for a Spring Break style resort, complete with beer bongs, waterslides, tequila slammers and all-night parties, or would you rather try to attract family-oriented patrons with kids-friendly attractions? Perhaps you want to go for the more intellectual-minded crowd. Why not try and lure some of those retired backpackers with trips to forgotten ruins and language courses? Or go straight for the jet setters, with trapeze lessons, 5 stars cuisine from world-renowned chefs and why not, a private jet landing strip…

The choice is yours. You can go for the clientele you want, you can even try to attract them all, but good luck with that! Loud music and beach reading hardly go hand in hand, unless you think ahead and explore all your options. Oh, and did we mention the dolphins and catamaran rides? As you can see, there’s plenty for you to do here.

The game starts with you, a starry-eyed promoter with big dreams and a limited budget, purchasing your very own corner of paradise to stake your claim. You’ll probably want to start with a simple hotel on the beach, bed and breakfast style, couple of rooms, easy access to the beach and why not, a retired cook to try and whip up miracles with the limited resources available locally (think seafood and tropical fruits). But as you start gaining traction, you’ll need to manage your budget smartly. A fresh coat of paint or a brand new disco, complete with next generation karaoke gear? Wifi internet access (for those patrons who just can’t disconnect) or massage tables on the beach? Again, choice is yours… Experiment!
